MUNDY

Mundy is an intelligent and talkative little bird who pals around with Hal and nests on his head. Mundy loves to talk, and Hal loves to listen - so naturally they became best friends!

Mundy gets his name from the German word "muendlich", which means "word of mouth". Though Mundy is very knowledgable about most of the elements of life in the African Savannah, he has a vice for gossip and a flair for the dramatic. Hal often has to shake his head vigorously to let him know that he's said enough (or too much!) and it's time to be quiet.

Because Hal is mute Mundy helps him to communicate better with others who can't understand him. He is teaching Hal how read and write by drawing letters with his hooves in the sand. In their first book they will learn the alphabet while exploring the savannah!
